Minister Of MSMEs Emphasizes The Need For Comprehensive Mapping Of Business Challenges. To strengthen Indonesia’s small business ecosystem and open wider opportunities for global trade, the government continues to highlight the importance of accelerating MSME development. For many Indonesian exporters especially those in high-demand sectors such as Coconut Shell Charcoal this effort is a crucial foundation for helping local industries compete on an international scale. Companies like PT. Indonesia Growth Asia, a Trusted Exporter from Indonesia, are among the players positively impacted by clearer regulations, better market access, and structured support programs.

The Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Maman Abdurrahman, stressed the importance of conducting comprehensive mapping of the challenges faced by MSME players across the country. Speaking in Jakarta on Monday, he explained that key issues often revolve around production capacity, product quality, financing access, and limited adoption of technology.

“If the barrier is financing, we will assist by connecting MSMEs with financial institutions. If the issue lies in technology for example, product standardization for export quality items we will help accelerate the standardization process to meet international market requirements,” he said.

The Minister also highlighted several strategic priorities: strengthening production capacity, ensuring consistent product standardization, expanding access to innovative financing, and accelerating global market penetration through branding, market intelligence, and more targeted export strategies.

To achieve these goals, the Ministry continues to build strategic collaborations with partners at both regional and national levels. One recent example is the partnership with the West Kalimantan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), which aims to enhance the competitiveness of the region’s leading commodities so they can secure stronger positions in the global marketplace.

West Kalimantan, he noted, has significant economic potential through its wide range of local commodities such as kratom, arowana fish, coconut, aloe vera, and various derivative products. With proper development, these products can become major contributors to the region’s export performance.

“Together with KADIN West Kalimantan, we want to elevate MSMEs by optimizing high-potential commodities that can drive sustainable regional economic growth,” he added.

According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), West Kalimantan’s export value reached 2.086 billion USD in 2024 (around IDR 33.38 trillion). From January to September 2025, exports had already amounted to 1.422 billion USD (around IDR 22.76 trillion), showing consistent upward trends.

The Minister emphasized that collaboration with KADIN acts as an important bridge that connects MSMEs with large industries, off-takers, financial institutions, and regional governments. This coordinated approach is expected to create a more stable and sustainable export supply chain.

He hopes the synergy will open more export opportunities while strengthening the presence of West Kalimantan’s MSMEs in the international market.

Arya Rizqi Darsono, Chairman of KADIN West Kalimantan, echoed this sentiment, stating that the move reflects genuine commitment from business stakeholders to improve economic welfare in the region.

“This is a form of strategic synergy aimed at accelerating economic growth in West Kalimantan,” he said.
